How To Make An Author Appearance At PNBA Fall Show

Author appearance at PNBA.

Every year, representatives from approximately 85 bookstores and several Northwest libraries attend the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Trade Show in the fall. A big part of the conference is author appearances at breakfasts, lunches, and the “sweet-and-greet” dessert events in the evenings.

Publicists and publishers looking to propose an author appearance at the PNBA Fall Trade Show 2019 should contact the organization this spring with information about author including links to author website, publisher listing, release date, relevant reviews and blurbs, and other information.

For detailed descriptions of each event where authors appear and how to propose an author appearance, see the Author/Publicist page at pnba.org.

Publicists may request authors be featured at specific events, but invitations will be influenced by their Selection Committee rankings as well as PNBA’s commitment to providing a wide variety of authors at each event. Finished books or ARCs may be requested as part of the selection process.

PNBA MUST RECEIVE PROPOSALS AND SUPPORTING MATERIALS BY FRIDAY, MAY 3.

PNBA’s 2019 Call for Education Proposals

Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association put out their call for presenters at their fall trade show.  Each year, the organization offers educational programming on the opening day of its annual Tradeshow. The 2019 tradeshow will be held at the Red Lion on the River in Portland, Oregon. PNBA will produce a full day of sessions, Sunday, October 6, the day prior to the opening of the exhibit floor.

They are looking for proposals for education aimed at librarians, small press publishers, and authors as well as sessions for bookstore owners.” The organizers add that they want “all sessions promote an atmosphere of cooperation among literary entities.Sales pitch presentations that are perceived to promote just one business solution or service are discouraged.”

Proposals for an educational session for the 2019 show should be submitted via the Education Proposal form on their website.

PNBA MUST RECEIVE EDUCATION PROPOSALS AND
SUPPORTING INFORMATION BY FRIDAY, MAY 10.
