Fall 2017 Meetings

Book Publishers Northwest will hold three meetings this fall in the Seattle. All are free and open to the public. Our September 25 meeting will focuses on working with multiple authors in assembling an anthology. Our speaker, Lynda Cheldelin Fell, has created multiple anthologies under her imprint AlyBlue Media.

On October 23, Andrea Ptak will discuss publishing project management.  As a project manager, editor, and designer, Ptak has more than 35 years of experience in the publishing industry.

We welcome Independent Book Publishers Association’s Director of Marketing and Programming Lee Wind on November 13 to discuss marketing and the huge issue of discoverability once a book is published.

All meetings start at 6 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Center, room 221, 4649 Sunnyside N., Seattle, Washington. There is free parking on site.

Meeting Today (June 18) at 4 pm

Join Sinead Murphy of Hiscox Insurance discusses the liability exposure related to publishing and how to adequately protect yourself in a litigious society. Bring her your questions about any exposure you are concerned with in your day-to-day business activities. This meeting takes place June 18, 4 pm to 6 pm.at the Good Shepherd Center at 4649 Sunnyside Ave N, room 221, Seattle.

Special member session following discussion: we have received word that IBPA will NOT be doing a display this year at the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association. We normally partner with them to buy a space. We will be discussing how we want to proceed and what type of display that we want.
