January 27 Meeting: How to Create a Professional-Looking e-Book

Book Publishers Northwest starts 2015 with a look at ebook formating. Anyone interested in publishing e-books will learn the basics of e-book development, enabling them to make a well-informed decision about whether to “do it yourself” or hire a professional e-book formatter/developer.

Julie Klein and Marcella Van Oel will illustrate the steps to format a Word document that can be easily uploaded to Smashwords for distribution through that vendor. Also they will talk about converting a Word document to HTML, creating a professional e-book ready to upload to ePUB or Kindle.

The January 27 meeting starts at 6 pm at Room 223 in the Good Shepherd Center, 4649 Sunnyside Avenue North, Seattle.

Julie Klein offers line editing, copy editing, and proofreading services. She specializes in fiction and narrative nonfiction, such as personal histories. She is excited to now offer e-book formatting to her colleagues and clients. www.jklein-editor.com
