Granite Peak Publications recently compiled a new short e-book of geyser basin walking tours called Visiting Geyserland. It consists of excerpts from Yellowstone Treasures: The Traveler’s Companion to the National Park (2013), with five maps, anecdotes relating historical experiences with the geyser eruptions, a list of precautions, and resources to exploreto learn more about geysers. Visiting Geyserland has been available since October 15 on iBooks, Kindle, Nook, and as a PDF.
Author Janet Chapple has been working on her guidebooks to the park since 1995, visiting Yellowstone every year to sightsee and research, eventually attending about twenty Yellowstone Association Institute workshops. As part of her research she hikes on all the trails recommended in her books, focusing the ones that are not too strenuous and that help the visitor get away from the crowds.
