Seattle Writes: SPL Holds Contest On Smashwords

Seattle Writes - Programs and resources to support Seattle writers.

Seattle Public Library has partnered with Smashwords to support local authors and connect them with the library’s large and avid community of readers.  Starting in September, the SPL will offer free workshops on the craft of writing, write-ins, author panels, classes on digital publishing, and more. Look for BPNW member Beth Jusino to be leading several of these.

Local writers also are invited to enter a contest to add their book to the library’s permanent collection

How to enter SPL’s e-book self-publishing contest:

  1. Create a Smashwords account
  2. Self-publish your e-book on Smashwords website
  3. Enter the contest (see contest rules)

Up to three winners will be added to SPL’s ebook collection. The winning ebooks may be mentioned and publicized in any SPL brochure, print ad, direct mail piece, social media, electronic media, (e.g. video, Internet, website) or other form of promotion without remuneration or further consent. There will be no monetary compensation or license fee provided for submissions.
