January 16 Meeting: Authorship as a Business

Karen172x224Karen Lynn Maher will lead a panel of experts to discuss how authors and publishers can create a  marketing platform for their work. This presentation introduces the common blocks to successful authorship and how to overcome them through mindset, purpose, planning, accountability, and promotion.

Maher owns LegacyONE Authors, a premiere self-publishing services company that guides aspiring authors to plan, write, publish and promote their nonfiction books. By inspiring their audience through authorship, her clients heighten their professional credibility and visibility, establish themselves as thought leaders in their industry, and position their businesses to flourish.

During the meeting, special emphasis  will be given to every author’s need to establish a marketing platform to sell their books, whether they self-publish or have a traditional publisher. Maher will lead a panel of authorship experts who will guide attendees to design a simple and effective strategy and avoid common missteps. Look for tips on how to:
· Start establishing  author brand
· Understand the “must have” elements of a promotional plan
· Set up social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and create an editorial calendar
· Identify ‘key topics’ around their book’s content
· Learn how to find and engage their audience
