Book Publishers Northwest member Waverly Fitzgerald had a busy October, with two book signings for her mystery series, a new class starting at the Experimental College, and speaking at the BPNW October 17 meeting.
She’s celebrating The Big Chihuahua, the third in the series of humorous mystery novels written by the name Waverly Curtis (for the writing team of Waverly Fitzgerald and Curt Colbert).
There will be The Big Chihuahua Signing on October 12, noon, at Seattle Mystery Book Shop on 117 Cherry Street and The Big Chihuahua Book Launch on October 18, 7 p.m., at Elliott Bay Book Company, 1521 10th Avenue.
Expect “a dramatic reading, prizes, cookies, book signings, and a guest appearance by the Chihuahua who inspired the series,” said Fitzgerald.
Her Career Planning for Writers class begins on Tuesday, October 22 and meets for six sessions from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for six sessions on the University of Washington campus. She teaches this with Whitney Keyes, who is a professor of strategic communications at Seattle University and author of Propel: 6 Ways to Amp Up Your Marketing.
“We’re aiming to help writers establish goals and identify a unique path, building on their strengths and weaknesses, that will lead to a successful writing career,” said Fitzgerald.
Registration is through the Experimental College.
