Wordstock Puts Out The Red Chair Again

Every year booksellers, publishers, authors and literary organizations go to Portland, OR, for the Wordstock Festival. The event boasts more than 150 author appearances as well as a lively book show for the public. The “red chair” in the festival’s logo signifies their commitment to making readers feel welcome at this event. Throughout the year, the organization also sponsors and supports a variety of literacy programs.

This year, Wordstock takes place from Oct. 3 to 6, 2013, at the Oregon State Convention Center in Portland. Exhibitors can choose from a wide range of packages, from a full booth to a “Basic Writers’ Row Table Share” that gets you half a table and a chair. Cost ranges from $275 to $450. Nonprofits and small literary presses can request a 15% discount. More information is available at the Wordstock website.

This year, Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association has timed their Portland trade show to coincide with Wordstock dates, to allow both publishers and booksellers a chance to experience both shows.
