Every year, Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association offers a Holiday Catalog. The association is currently taking reservations for ad space for the 2013 catalog.
“The region’s best independent bookstores will place nearly one million Holiday Books guides into the hands of local customers and will back the catalog campaign with stock, displays, promotion and sales,” said Brian Juenemann, PNBA Marketing Director. “It’s not just hype. In 2012, PNBA stores reported the highest catalog sales totals in a decade!”
The association does not take every ad submitted for the catalog. Instead, they work to choose the right books and sidelines and the right strategies to sell them in their members’ bookstores.
They also encourage publishers to book authors as speakers or participants at the October 2013 PNBA Tradeshow in Portland. “Sell our booksellers on your books and authors at the show and they’ll go to work for you, handselling to their customers,” Juenemann noted.
Catalog advertisers also can send a flyer to be placed into the bookbags of 250 booksellers entering the tradeshow floor in October for no extra charge.
The PNBA Holiday Catalog closes July 17. For more information on deadlines, requirements, and costs, contact:

Juenemann will be the Book Publishers Northwest guest speaker for our June 20 meeting. If you have a question about the PNBA catalogs, trade show, or how to market to independent bookstores throughout the Northwest, this is the meeting that you will want to attend.
