Interested in getting together with some ALA attendees and discussing the recent Midwinter Conference? The Seattle chapter of the Women’s National Book Association meets monthly to discuss just such bookish topics. On Feb. 9, they will meet at from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the Elliott Bay Book Company, 1521 Tenth Avenue, Seattle, WA 98122.
They will have a short report on the winter meeting of the American Library Association (ALA) meeting that was just held in Seattle with a highlight on the trends in libraries. The lists of award winning books that were announced at the conference will be available. The general discussion topic focuses on changing technology: how it is changing the way we use libraries, how we read, write, distribute/publish and market.
Look for them in the Elliott Bay Café. If the group is big enough, they will migrate up to the 2nd floor to a larger table.
