The Oregon-based Northwest Association of Book Publishers Northwest holds several educational and social events for publishers over the next month.
May 31, 11 a.m., Lake Oswego, All About Book Shows
The topic for their monthly meeting is book shows: Is it worth attending, and how can publishers make the most of the experience? Speakers include Katie Merritt, Festival Director for Wordstock; Kelly Melillo, the NABP Pub U scholarship winner for 2012; and NABP member Alina Blankenship of Bree Noa Press, who has seen much success come out of show attendance.
June 2, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, Portland, SEO Seminar, Session 2
Even if you didn’t make session 1 of NABP’s three-part seminar on making the web work for publishers, it’s not too late to get in on the education! The second and third sessions are June 2 and June 16, and registration is still open for both.
June 12, 6 pm to 8 pm, Portland, Mixer at Lucky Lab on HawthorneA
A casual, friendly mixer and networking event with area writers, publishers and vendors. This event is open to all.
