Summer publishing program offered at Yale

We have recently announced the 2012 Yale Publishing Course (YPC) preliminary program, which is a one-week, educational experience designed for mid to senior level professionals in the book industry. Given the role the members of BPNW play in the industry, we are hoping you’d be interested in sharing information about YPC with your membership.

The Yale Publishing Course offers much more than large conferences:
* Its unique curriculum focuses on the most pressing issues facing the industry today, forward-looking approaches to publishing as a global enterprise, real-world business models and case studies, and in-depth information on the latest advances in technology.
* Its outstanding speakers are carefully selected for their expertise, teaching skills, and demonstrated performance as innovators, include leading publishing executives and industry experts as well as distinguished faculty from the Yale School of Management. This year’s program will include Michael Jacobs – President and CEO, Abrams Books, David Steinberger – President and CEO, Perseus Book Group, Liisa McCloy-Kelley – VP & Dir. of Digital Production Operations, Random House, Inc.,  Neil DeYoung- Executive Director, Digital Media Hachette Digital, Inc., and Patricia Arancibia – Director, Editorial and Publishing Relations for Int’l Content, Barnes&Noble, Tom Turvey – Director of Strategic Partnerships, Google,  and many more.

* Limited to only 80 participants, its collegial and informal atmosphere allows participants to receive personal attention from speakers at meals and receptions as well as in small group discussions and one-on-one counseling sessions.
* It takes place in a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility on the Yale University campus.
