Seattle publisher ShinShinChez announced that their latest cookbook, Passion and Palate: Recipes for a Generous Table, is available now for holiday shoppers. The book collects more than 240 recipes and numerous stories from chef John Howie. Recipes include guest and family favorites from Howie’s restaurants: Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar, John Howie Steak, SPORT Restaurant & Bar, and Adriatic Grill Italian Cuisine & Wine Bar.
Howie’s close friend. award winning sommelier Erik Liedholm, suggests the perfect pairings for each meal. His recommendations range from a “life is too short” pick to “just because it’s inexpensive, doesn’t mean you’re cheap” bottle.
Howie has orchestrated hundreds of philanthropic events such as his recent “Stone Soup” food drive for Food Lifeline and an annual Thanksgiving Day dinner that feeds an average of 500 needy at a sit-down meal fully staffed by volunteers.
