Whitethorn Press announces that Little Farm in the Foothills: A Boomer Couple’s Search for the Slow Life, a memoir by Susan Colleen Browne, has been selected for the Washington State Library’s Summer Reads booklist.
In Little Farm in the Foothills, a feel-good tale of going back to the land, Browne writes about DIY food, sustainable backyard farming, and simplifying one’s life.
“The Browne’s foray into slower living in Whatcom County is an enjoyable read,” writes State Librarian Jan Walsh on the Washington State Library’s website. “Their delightful, yet very real, experiences in making the big leap toward their dreams make for a humorous and charming book.”
As Walsh indicates on the site, she compiled her list from works that were set in Washington State. “This broad and wide-ranging topic led me to discover a number of intriguing books that grew from Washington as place.”
