Washington novel up for Franklin

Callie of the White Sand by Washington author Kimberly Ann Freel has been named as a finalist in the Benjamin Franklin Awards (Popular Fiction). The Benjamin Franklin Award is the prestigious book publishing competition created by Independent Book Publishers Association (formerly PMA).

Kimberly Ann Freel received similar recognition for her previous novels, Painted Rocks, A Novel and Monster White Lies.

Freel and her family live on a hay ranch near Okanogan, WA.

CMP Publishing Group, LLC was formed in 2004 to publish works primarily by new and unknown authors.

The award ceremony will be held May 28 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.
